In this section, we present a case study of one of the good practices selected by the   HEPA Expert Group in September 2022.

The practice in brief: The “Pluspunkt Gesundheit” has been developed by the German Gymnastic Federation (Deutscher Turner-Bund ) as a seal of quality. In practice, the initiative allowed to develop 1. standardised health sport programmes, 2. an evaluation system, 3. special training for trainers to execute the standardised programmes, 4. a special brand as quality mark for DTB’s clubs so that they can connect their activities with the health system and increase public awareness of their qualified physical activity offers

Why you will be inspired? The “Pluspunkt Gesundheit” is a seal of quality whose transferability has already been proven. Indeed it was subsequently adopted by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and named SPORT for HEALTH. It provides a canvas to define quality standards for health sports programs and trainers/instructors. 

How it is used by DTB?  The development of the seal of quality has allowed  DTB to 1. convince their clubs to introduce health-oriented offers to address inactive people and 2. forge a strong partnership with the healthcare system.
