More about organisation:

MOVE is a registered non-governmental organisation set up in 2013 to promote active communities. The organisation’s mission is to inspire a new culture of movement and to create a lasting social change through positive community activities including sports and culture. MOVE is committed to empowering young people and the community at large with opportunities that lead to a healthy and active lifestyle, and works closely with the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector and the Ministry for Education, Youth and Sport on various community projects targeting young people, including migrants and refugees.

With the art of social interaction nearly forgotten, MOVE uses street sports and culture as a tool for active community engagement.  Young people coming from all walks of life, with different cultural backgrounds and identities, are given the opportunity to socialise and be active though our various activities that are normally held in public spaces, hence turning unutilised open public spaces into vibrant playgrounds. “GAME BOX” a recent project in which we transformed a recycled container into an innovative youth hub and that is based in one of Malta’s largest colleges, helped us reach more young people in their own settings, and hence it left a very positive impact not only on young people but also on the overall school community.
