Lessons learnt – the perspectives of expert organisations
Here are the few important lessons and tips identified by the expert organisations (Icehearts Finland, ISS, UCC, TCL, EurohealthNet, University of Cassino) involved in the project when it come to implementing Icehearts Europe:
- Start with SANA analysis: Begin the project by conducting a SANA analysis to understand the context and needs. Establish a solid foundation.
- Begin with simple, doable steps: Implement the project in manageable stages, progressing step by step.
- Start small: Initially implement the Icehearts approach with a small group, such as a sports team. Gradually involve other stakeholders, e.g. schools.
- Identify collaborators: Find individuals or groups willing to collaborate on or champion the project. The partnership mapping tool is available for this process.
- Deploy the published scientific evidence of impact: Highlight that Icehearts has proven positive effects on the lives of children and young people.
- Manage initial overwhelm: Acknowledge that feeling overwhelmed at the start is normal. Emphasise the availability of evidence-based tools and resources to support the process. Note the progress and confidence gained by early adopters in adapting the Icehearts approach to their context.
