As an international education and sport consultant, Vivienne Holt works at policy and practice levels in the UK, Middle East and throughout the world with schools, government agencies, NGO’s and organisations including Nike, and the British Council. as an expert trainer, bespoke consultant and author of resources. She has a particular interest in physical education, sport and leadership.
A larger proportion of her recent work has taken place on a UK government funded project aimed at building relations between the six countries of the Gulf Co-operation Council and the United Kingdom. She has worked with senior officials from ministries of sport, education and youth to advise and develop programmes of youth sport leadership training, special and inclusive education training for teachers and a programme of lead trainer training that builds capacity and expertise in-country to have a larger scale, more sustainable impact. She has also been responsible for leading the delivery of these programme in all 6 countries together with a team of international trainers.
From 2014, Vivienne has held a senior international leadership role in Youth Sport Trust International which uses the power of physical activity and sport to improve wider education outcomes for young people and schools worldwide. She has led the development and delivery of large scale, strategic programmes funded by government departments, major corporate partners and led relationships with senior individuals from significant international educational, political and corporate partners.
Prior to this, she was seconded for 4 years to UK Sport, the national government agency responsible for the development of elite athletes across all sports in the UK where she led on the strategic relationship with 10 countries worldwide during the implementation and delivery of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games legacy programme International Inspiration. This included the maintenance of Ministerial level relationships, the design and development of strategic plans for the implementation of sport and physical education programmes and the assessment and reporting of these programmes to relevant government agencies
Vivienne is a member of the Nike Global Technical Advisory Team with a role to advise Nike on programmes, initiatives and training worldwide to get young people physically active. In addition, she also leads a training team deployed by Nike across Europe to train their staff, and linked NGOs in a range of programmes.
Vivienne is a former government OFSTED Inspector and consultant for the National College of School Leadership where she worked with school principals and senior leaders across England to improve their vision and leadership skills for the effective management of their schools.
Vivienne had a twenty-five-year career as a highly innovative and effective teacher, subject leader and senior leader in schools throughout England. She taught a range of subjects at secondary level, including Physical Education and geography, to examination level.
