Sylvana Mestre linked to the world of sport from the cradle, with snow and water slide sports as her passion.
From 1995, passion is moved to sports for people with disabilities.
Being a guide for people with vision problems in alpine skiing. Coach and technical director of the Spanish Paralympic team, President of the International Paralympic Federation of Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding at the International Paralympic Committee and co-founder of the NGO declared of public utility Play and Train.
Today Sylvana through Play and Train and the IPC continues to work on development, training and education of sports for people with disabilities. Bringing sports, leisure and/or competition closer to all members of society regardless of their abilities, religion or status. In her work she has defended the accessibility of sports infrastructures, helping the ski resort of La Molina with accessible changes that led them to win the IAKS Awards.
Sylvana is the only Spanish woman to be a recipient of the Paralympic Order among other awards received during her professional career.
